For this week’s segment of Invent America, Michael King and co-host Rita Crompton welcome Morris Newman & Travis Kelley to discuss “The Patent – Why Is It So Important?” Newman is the Executive Director of the Pro Bono Advisory Council, assisting the US Patent and Trademark Office administering the patent pro bono legal services program. Kelley holds several patents, and is the founder of JENTRA Door Products – a company that specializes in pre-hung door shipping and installation products.

The Pro Bono Advisory Council is a 501(c)(3) assisting the US Patent and Trademark Office. The Council’s 22 non-profit organizations match under-resourced inventors with top quality volunteer patent attorneys or patent agents. Morris, a 1975 graduate of the University of Connecticut, previously had an over 40year federal career, first as a research economist with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and then as an agent of the National Labor Relations Board.
